Head of Financial Services, Ben Goldring, recently wrote a piece for Global Banking and Finance Review on why ‘Fintech will be the victor in the coming payment wars’.

Positioning Amazon recent decision to remove Visa as a payment option for UK users as a centre piece, the article focuses on why such card networks remain under pressure whilst also touching upon new fintech payment methods such as “BNPL”.

“Low friction, high conversion and customer friendly payment offerings that make the most of Open Banking technology are winners”. According to Goldring, Fintechs are well positioned to take full advantage and hence why giants like Amazon are keen to step aside from traditional payment providers.
