Cavendish Corporate Finance is delighted to announce that it has advised on the sale of Epigeum Limited (“Epigeum“), (a leading provider of online courseware to the higher education sector) to Oxford University Press.

Epigeum was founded in 2005 as a spin-out company from Imperial College London with the goal of creating outstanding multimedia, interactive online courseware. Over the past 10 years, Epigeum has developed a unique range of over 78 online courses designed to help universities and colleges support their core activities in teaching, research, studying, leadership and management. Epigeum’s courses are used by 250 Universities across 28 countries.

Oxford University Press is the world’s largest university press. The transaction provides Oxford University Press with a major footprint in the provision of on-line courseware and allows the Epigeum team to grow the business with the resources of a major international educational publishing group behind it.

The sale of Epigeum is our third transaction within the education sector in recent years, having successfully sold Primal Pictures (online courseware) to Informa PLC and The Key (information services) to a UK family office.
